Problem with circulation Worcester 24 Ri

Hi

I have a problem with the circulation through a conventional Worcester 24 Ri. I have replaced the pump but the central heating doesn’t heat up although the hot water does.

I have already checked both zone valves for heating and hot water and they are open, what can I do?

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.

Hi Marco,

If it’s an open vented system I would check the neutral point to see if it is blocked.

The neutral point is where the vent for the feed expansion tank joins the heating system.

The best way to check this is by using a magnet. I use the magnet which I took out of an old magnaclean. See if this sticks to the copper pipe. If it does it means this pipe is blocked with rust and you will need to drain out the system and remake this section of pipework.
