  Boiler Replacement

  1-bed flat. 10y.o “Worcester Greenstar 28i Junior” developed Expansion vessel fault. Was told that I’d be better off replacing this boiler rather than fixing it .

  Was quoted as a replacement: “Vaillant Eco Fit Pure 825 “. Quote £2400. This includes a) full chemical flush b) magnetic protection filter sy (all mandatory)stem c) 3rd-party wireless room thermostat and mechanical timer d) corrosion inhibitor . All this is mandatory

  Questions:

  1) I have magnaclean (10 y.o). Was told that having it will void a 10-year warranty on the new boiler, so new one should be put. Does it sound right?

  2) Is it worth considering an electric boiler instead of gas one. My concern is not the price, but the efficiency and what should I do to understand if my electricity is capable of taking the load . I need a rather powerful boiler so that it provides heating and also for long hot showers/bath
